Shane participated for two years in the summer employment program doing various jobs to gain work experience that resulted in an unsubsidized full time position at Bristol ID in Lima, NY. He is doing assembly and packaging and really likes it.

This was very meaningful to Shane for many reasons. First, it demonstrated that he could be a success. Next, he is now earning his own money. And lastly, he was able to get his own apartment and be on his own. Through his own efforts and the careful matching of the summer program, Shane is finally self sufficient and has reached his goal!

Elizabeth worked as a counselor assistant this summer and almost immediately got 2 job offers, ultimately taking one as a part-time cook's assistant at Medina Headstart. This works around her college schedule nicely. She is completing her 2-year degree and hoping to get into NTID (at RIT) to complete a bachelor's degree in American Sign Language. She already tutors students in this language and works part time at Genesee Community College for her internship.

Elizabeth is a single mom who overcame many barriers to achieving her goals. Congratulations on a job well done and continued success in the future.
